Manifest of Lucrum Gaudium:

We are an alliance raiding guild on Emerald Dream, a European PvE realm. Our goal is to explore the endgame content of World of Warcraft together, killing stuff and having a damn good time. Our raiding schedule is relatively light, in order to accomodate real-life commitments. This means an average of 3-4 official 25-man raid nights a week.

We are a hardcore raiding guild for time-constrained individuals, so despite our casual schedule we do not raid casually. On the contrary, everyone is expected to be fully focused and be at the top of their game when raiding. With a limited schedule, we do not wish to waste time to needless wipes, silly downtime between the inevitable wipes of learning attempts, or slow pulling. Also, raiders are expected to have familiarized themselves with content beforehand, reading up on tactics, boss/trash abilities, etc. The faster we can clear content, the better. It gives more time for the challenging stuff.

We strive to maintain a membership large enough to consistently raid with the required flexibility in raid makeup, fully leveraging the synergies between classes. Members are expected to be mature, self-motivated, reliable and intelligent. A good sense of humor is also appreciated. A good knowledge of class and general game mechanics is also a requirement, as is keeping up to date on developments in theorycrafting.

Respect for other members of the guild is important. Abusive behavior is not tolerated. However, everyone should be able to give and take constructive criticism. But always done in an atmosphere of respect for fellow guild members and the divisions of responsibility among members of the guild - knowing when to give feedback on the performance of others - and when to save it for later - is important. Needlessly to say, owning up to own mistakes is also important. A code of conduct exists for raiding - for raiders and raid leaders alike. Consistently breaking it will lead to exclusion from the guild. Drama and slander is not tolerated.

The reputation of the guild is important. Every member shall conduct themselves in a way so that they do not cause ill will to fall upon the guild. Courtesy and maturity should be shown in all interactions with our players. For example: being in a pickup group is not an excuse to act like an ass. This doesn't mean our members cannot tell people if they're crap in such a group, or have to turn the other cheek to any kind of abuse. Everyone should hopefully know what acceptable behavior is and what it is not. It is hard to codify, but not hard to recognize.

If you are applying, and have read this: Good job! Write 'Profit is happiness!' at the end of your application. We very much value when people read forum posts they are supposed to read.
